Industry
We have done extensive
work with the insurance industry, mutual funds and even a stock exchange.
In some cases, our work was used to help elected officials understand public
perceptions and concerns, and, in others, it has been used to help a client
understand public or customer needs and concerns.

Problem: The client wanted an
innovative, credible way to get regular media coverage and to position itself
as an expert in its field.
Solution: By conducting a monthly
telephone survey of 1,000 people we developed an index of
investor attitudes that provided forward looking information to investment analysts, investors,
and the media.
Results: After two years, the index
proved itself to be a consistently accurate and reliable forecaster of American
investor intentions and was published regularly in the media. An
article was written about the investor index in the New York Times.

The Insurance League of Texas
Problem:
The Texas Legislature
was considering taxing certain kinds of insurance premiums. Our client
wanted to convince legislators that this was not the best course of action
for them to take.
Solution:
We designed a study to
examine public reaction to the proposed tax and to compare it to public
opinion about other
options to raise revenue for the state.
Results:
We were able to show
that, not only did the public not favor the tax on insurance premiums, but
there were other revenue options they were much more willing to accept.
The client used the results as part of their lobbying effort and the bill
was killed.
